Cooling off at the Llano river

The last part of the week the kids begged to drive up to the Llano river for a swim. We used to live there, and it is always nice to head back for a visit to our old stomping grounds. We always drive by our old house on the way there, as it is right on the river.

Cory arrived on Wednesday with his dog Morty, bringing the number of dogs up to a chaotic level. Oy! But he is a sweet gorgeous dog, no?

This pic was so forced by the mama. Seriously, these two used to be so close, and now all they do is bicker. Prior to this I said “Lets take a picture together” and this is what I got.

Don't stand so close to me.

Closer please.

So I said “Put your arms around each other and pretend you like each other” and snapped the pic. Immediately after the picture, they did this.

Thank God that is over with.

The Llano is one of the most beautiful rivers we have in Texas. To me, it is THE most beautiful. Gorgeous, pink granite, completely quiet and uncrowded…I could go on and on. But the thing that makes it dear to my heart is the memories I have of living there and returning yearly for visits with the kids.

IMHO, if you haven’t visited the Llano, you ain’t seen my Texas yet.

Of all the pictures you took, the one of their expressions when you suggested a picture together is far and away my favorite. What a classic!

    Love your honesty!
