The “dry” side

We were supposed to be on what they call the Dry Side of Bill. Usually the western side of a Tropical Storm is dry, and the north-eastern side gets the heavy rain.

Bill ignored all the rules and truly dumped its load on us.

Our neighborhood never floods.  It is one of the highest areas in town.

This storm was way to the north of us, and a weak Tropical Storm.

Luckily it only came up to our grassland, drained off very fast and was gone in less than an hour after the rain stopped.

Word to the wise:  If your kids play in flooding like this, be sure to supervise…the drainage can be incredible as it goes in the street sewer holes.
