Awesome idea! My kids nearly always eat it when they help cook it. Our older one helped plan and cook dinner for Dad on Valentine’s day. He was so proud! And when he found out how much stuff costs…

Mine are just starting to want to cook too. So far we have made pancakes, grilled cheese, and mac and cheese. That should get them through college.

LOL… we’ve tried that so many times over the years. It worked better when they were younger but then they got older and got so busy with activities that it always got lost in the shuffle. This summer I was determined to have each child plan, shop and prepare just 1 a month and even that got put on the back burner. I love the concept – so do my kids. But we found as they got into their teens they just had no time.

Mine just started doing the dinner dishes, kind of. They still need to learn the fine art of wiping down the table and counter tops. I think I’ll start the planning and shopping for dinner this summer. Between the four of them we don’t get home until 6:15 every night. That is too late for them to start dinner. Although, I could make them do a crockpot meal in the morning….mmmm…..

very wise. Our children are less likely to develop diabetes if they know how to cook for themselves in college. And this looks like mighty fine cuisine. O hunger..
