Helmsman

I have been away from the helm here for a bit. We had a family emergency and had to travel out of town for several days. My FIL was quite ill and to make a long story short, ended up with a couple of stents around his heart.
All is well now, and they are on their way back home as I type this.
Things I am grateful for today:
-God and his miracles.
-My FIL….the man is the sweetest, most gracious man and I am so happy we will have him with us for a longer time frame than what was supposed on Wednesday.
-My MIL, who loves her husband and is a most awesome example of a wife.
-My BIL and SIL who made Bill and I laugh like we have not in a very long, long time.
-My friends who took my children in and cared for them so we could go and tend to my FIL.
-Life. Because it is a short ride, and we really need to spend more time appreciating it.

Jody,
You were missed, as you always are when you are gone.
I’m glad your FIL is doing better. That is great news for all of you.

Perfect picture!
Glad things are better with the FIL!
I have to agree with Leeann, You were missed. I may not comment, but I visit almost daily, wishing my life could take the turn yours has and I could live near the beach and have the joy of sailing the ocean. You are very lucky.
I will Thank God that he has given you the joy of your FIL for a little longer, and will pray that your FIL continues to improve.
Thanks for letting us pick into this little part of your life.
Glad your FIL is doing better. Thanks for reminding me to be more grateful for my blessings.
Missed you guys!! Sorry about your fil. I have 6 stents in one arterie and life is good. He will be fine. Family is important I am so glad he is ok.
Blessings to ya’ll.
Jody
I hope all goes well for your FIL. I lost my dad to a viral encephalitis caused by shingles last week. It was so fast and so hard to watch an intelligent, articulate man reduced to such a demented state. Mercifully his 82 year old kidneys failed and we were able to go to comfort measures. Dad lived his life on his terms raised 8 kids and was loved by 22 grandchildren. Not a bad legacy! Hold on tight, tell people you love them. Life goes by fast!
