I lost my dad to a viral encephalitis caused by shingles last week. It was so fast and so hard to watch an intelligent, articulate man reduced to such a demented state. Mercifully his 82 year old kidneys failed and we were able to go to comfort measures. Dad lived his life on his terms raised 8 kids and was loved by 22 grandchildren. Not a bad legacy!
