The summer of my German Soldier

Here is a random image. Look how adorable Mia is in her little ballerina outfit. And Bill got new shorts. Plaid is in again, you know. Especially with Quicksilver. He got some Topsiders too and actually wore them……when he walked out of the bedroom with his Crocs on, I threatened him with grave bodily harm if he was even seriously considering that sad ensemble.

Does anyone see anything else special about this photo? Anything that simply, you know, contradicts anything involving water and sand……because it is not like we are surrounded by water and sand or anything.

The CAST! We just had our first broken bone diagnosed today, and my daughter wept when she learned that she will not be able to get her hand wet for 6-8 weeks, which in our neck of the woods is (almost) the ENTIRE summer. Sigh.

    Poor guy!

I love her costume, so sweet! I showed it to Claire who of course loved it because it was pink!

Love the camo… but topsiders, do people still wear them??? Really?

Yup. Sailers do. That is what they were designed for, and somehow they became a fashion statement. Sort of like Uggs (originally designed by and for surfers).

    AWWW poor dude.
Can’t wait to hear the scoop.
    Mia looks adoreable as evah.

Yikes. So what do you do? Encase his arm in plastic while on the boat and hope for the best?

P.S. I have pics on my site you might like. ;)

Well, no beach going, that is for sure. There is no way to keep sand out of stuff while there, so we are just waiting for the cast to come off in a few weeks.

  6. The cast is seriously cool (as casts go), but what was he thinking?!?! Doesn’t he know that casts don’t go with the family lifestyle?

Right??? I mean, the nerve of the little punk. ;*)

Oooh, summer and casts! And it’s always summer there. Ask for a splint, asap. When we had the summer of the broken bones (don’t ask) it saved our minds.

Yes, the cast does not mix well with water and sand. Last year, two of my boys had broken arms. Sadly I have also learned that casts seem to attract water and dirt. Thankfully their surgeon was willing to make frequent cast changes lol.

What happened to Cody??? Casts have come along way, haven’t they?!! The cast is pretty high — did he break his wrist like his momma did 30 (!) years ago?

  10. Jamie says:

That cast rocks! I had no idea they had cool designs.

I noticed that the brother seems to be helping to primp the ballerina before her big performance…so tender :)

I see a certain young man with a cast on! Ack!

The plaid shorts are fab. I like them.
