My kids LOVE LOVE LOVE it! We've always done it. The tradition here in Germany is putting one's shoe out in front of the door, to receive the gifts. We had one scarey moment of realization, when our first child went to school after receiving these fantastic gifts in her shoe... while we lived in California. She came home and instantly said "Mom, I must be the best kid around because St. Nicholas didn't come to any of the kids in school but me." Whoops! We did St. Nicholas too! My kids LOVE LOVE LOVE it!
