and baby makes 6!

It's just another day in paradise

Dialogue….if you can call it that.

Me: “Do you want to watch Animals?”
Mia: “Yesh, Amnimals”

So, I place “Amazing Animals” into the video recorder.

Mia explodes into a screaming, stomping mess. “NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!”

Me: “What, I thought you wanted Animals on…okay, out they go” and I pop out the tape.

Mia explodes into a screaming, stomping mess. “NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

Me: “What, you want to watch Amazing Animals????? In or out Mia?”

Mia: “In. Amnimals. Pleash”

In they go again, and wash, rinse, repeat all of the above at least 2 more times.

I finally remove the tape, pretend to put it back in another box, then pretend to remove it from the Amazing Animal box, then place it back in the VCR.

This time it starts and she is happy.

Me, I need someone to teach me how to read a 21 month old childs mind.

  1. Delurking to say: I have a 23 month old and we had that same experience about 1000 + times this weekend with the Wizard of Oz and Elmo. (sigh)

Hi Kelli. Isn’t it funny how they get obsessed with one movie and want to watch it over and over again? We have moved from Nemo to Stitch and now her current obsession is Mickey Mouse. She still likes the other two, but Mickey is her new boyfriend.

  3. They are really too funny. We also have to play the “pretend” to take the video out of the package, even if it is already in the dvd player. I think Madeline will marry Elmo one day. I would pay cold hard cash if she would watch Nemo all the way through.

  4. Oh how familiar this scenario is lately. I have 4 of them doing it and one of them on steroids. Needless to say I feel your pain!!

  5. Oh, I am right there with you…my 21 mos old does the same thing…with everything from drinks to movies to shoes…
