Just another day in paradise
Let me start by saying that I love you honey. I am so blessed to have you in my life.
Mia, I am writing you today to let you know that it is okay, every so often, to be out of mommy’s arms. Mommy loves holding you, but she is beginning to look a bit like she lifts weights on only her right side. Also, although she loves her new Maya wrap and her old Nojo sling, the pinched nerve in Mommy’s neck from wearing you for every moment you are awake is making her look a bit like her head is too heavy to hold up, again, on the right side.
Bottoms are meant for other things, not just making poo poo. Sitting on your own is one of them, and cannot be learned unless you do just that…sit on it. Sitting on mommy’s hip won’t teach you that skill. Sitting on your bottom on a colorful quilt will. That is why mommy sits you there with a bunch of cool blocks and such….it is supposed to be fun. Please enjoy it and break in that little butt.
Also, tummy time is not bad or torturous, as your protests would have it seem. It is supposed to be FUN!! Like sitting. Rolling over is also fun, and is a learned behavior that cannot be learned unless you, well, learn it!! Yes, you will need to know how to do it when they teach you to stop, drop and roll during fire safety training in grade school.
That is all.
Love,
Mommy
