Fauna of South Texas

Something to consider if you wade fish in the bays here in South Texas.

This was a little friend that I spied while out on a training ride on my bike a few weeks back. I use the term “little” with sarcasm as this American alligator was around 12 feet long.

He had a “smaller” 4-6 foot friend that did NOT like to be photographed. He jaw snapped, postured and threatened to charge me on more than one occasion. The only thing separating me and the gator was a bank with some shattered cinder blocks on it.

Life lived in fullness is not without risks, you know?

It won’t let me comment on your previous post with the beach pictures. Glad to see you are all well, I miss your posts when you disappear but that is real life, huh?
That beach looks wonderful. When it gets closer to fall and not so blazing hot, we may head south for baby’s first beach trip. G-town is close, but hubby and I aren’t too keen on it. I may shoot you an email when we get closer to it being a reality and see if you’ve got suggestions for me. :o )
