Snakes and snails and puppy dog tails

That’s what little boys bring home to my house.

Colorful snakes

(No, not a coral.  Remember….Red on yellow, kill a fellow, red on black, venom lack.)

Isn’t my life interesting?

I’ve seen coral snakes hanging out in the trees….They are beautiful.

So if any snake is red on yellow its dangerous? I will be searching the ground every morning when I walk.

Yes, and you with your passion for all life..let him keep it of course. I bet you were almost as excited as he was. :-)

I haven’t a problem with snakes. We just don’t have any around here for my son to find and bring home. (Altho, if I lived further north a mile or two..the rattlers would probably come visiting.)

No way my boys are bringing a snake in the house! I don’t mind them outside, but the thought of the thing getting loose and slithering around in my home makes me shiver!

I third the “I’m glad I have girls” comments!!!!

  7. I second that whole “glad I have girls” thing. That picture made me lose my breath for a second!

  8. rachel says:

very cool! I’m so impressed that you let it come home – I’m all about “here, take a picture!”

my in-laws are here from Fort worth, and we had to rename everything the girls make out of clay as “worms” as my MIL is phobic about snakes. v glad she isn’t here right now, ‘cos I love this picture.

And I always heard “red and yellow kill a fellow, red and black, friend of Jack”, but I like the “venom lack” one too.

Hm… maybe there are advantages to living in Ireland ;-)

  10. Blaine says:

You are a much nicer Mommy than me. Mt boys are all very clear on the fact that they will need to find their own residence if they wish to cohabitate with snakes!

  11. Sue says:

I don’t think I’d get close enough to see if it was red on yellow or not. I don’t mind lizards, but snakes are just not my favorite. (do you have lots of these around you?)

  12. I am sooooooo glad I have girls.

That is all I have to say. :)
