You set a wonderful tone! Your story resonates with innocence, trust, sibling love, and victory. You, my friend,are a writer,a “spunky” courageous go getter as well as a devoted sister. Keeping your relationship on-going is a victory.
Thank you for reminding me of my cousins, my brothers,and my wonderful, blessed childhood. My loving patient cousins, all 35 of them,often included us little ones, when they did not want to,or did not have to do so. They taught us so much, not the least of which was how to be family. They remain on of my greatest gifts. After reading this, I remembered so much I had not thought recently.
I’m sorry I hi-jacked your comments, but this made me laugh and cry, and I had to tell you why it made such an impact.Aren’t families wonderful?.

What a wonderful story, Jody! I especially liked the part about summer and grilled steaks and rolling on the grass. Reminds me so much of my childhood. What a wonderful family you have! Going to all that trouble to make you believe in Santa and the Easter Bunny. You were so loved.

And I’m very glad you survived that tree.

Well if you don’t consider yourself a writer I will. That was a beautiful story. I love reading things like this around the holidays. I let alot of time go by because of differences in family. What I have found out is that life is to short and sometimes we just have to be almost pushy to get things the way they should be with people who are important to us. Have a wonderful holiday!
