Turkey, Texas style

In Texas, we boil our Turkeys in oil.

Aaron and Bubba

Doesn’t everyone?

It is a fascinating process….especially when the turkey has a bit of ice on it.  Oil heated to 350 degrees reacts stronly to water.  ‘Nuff said.

Even cousins come Texas sized.

Big and little

And yes, they are all surfers.  Can’tcha tell?

Happy Thanksgiving ya’ll!

I tried deep fried turkey for the first time this year, and it was yummy! Very moist and juicy.

Is this the family of the brother mentioned in the story below?

Jodi-with-an-i, from the pictures, it looks like the turkey was being cooked in the garage.

Deep fried turkey injected with cajun seasoning is by far the most fantastic way to eat turkey. We brined ours this year, and it came in a close second. I love Mia’s little bathing suit.
I have to ask, because I am nosy…Behind the man putting the turkey in the deep fryer, is a box of paper towels. They are the most fantastic paper towels ever made. Does someone in your family work for Verizon? My FIL does, and orders them through his work for us by the case load… I had never seen anyone else ever have them before.

Are you cooking that inside?! Yipes!

I like mine roasted. In the oven. Where it is safe. And it warms up my house. :)

My daughter has the same swim suite…very cute! How much oil do you have to use to fry the turkey?
