I had the most surreal moment. I was sitting at the computer, IM’ing with a friend when I hear a song drifting out of the den where my daughter was watching TV. It was the Wonder Pets singing a song about a puppy that was trapped indoors and needed to get outside to pee. The lyric, in opera, went something like:
“He has to peeeee peeeeee,
and maybe poo poo too,
We’re Wonder Pets, Wonder Pets
and we’ll help you,
Get out the door and go relieve
your…bowels…too!”
They get the dog outside and it pees, then one of them says something like “Celery is great after a good pee!!”.
I am so completely weirded out.

totally weird. this is serious.
We don’t usually see Wonder Pets, but it came on the other day. I was curious if she would like it, as the only show she ever requests is Caillou. Of course, it was the “pee” episode. I could not believe what I was overhearing! Unbelievable, but so funny.
There are just some things for which teamwork is NOT required!
Oh, my! I haven’t seen that one. Making mental note to avoid at all costs.

I knew there was a reason beyond the insipid songs that I don’t watch Wonderpets. At least they know what will amuse their audience.

My teenagers thought that was the funniest thing ever (3yr. olds favorite show). They sing it all the time. Lucky me!

I saw that one today too!! Is it any wonder our children understanding that there are certain topics that should be kept PRIVATE?! On a positive note, any time we want our little ones to help with something, we need do nothing more than sing, “What’s gonna work…Teamwork!” They come running to do the job woth a smile on their faces. You gotta’ love that!!
