Nice pictures. We went before camping there last year. And by camping I mean sleeping in the car because there was torrential rain and we were missing a piece of our tent.
Anyway. We went in mid-April, during the week, and it was pretty busy. Many of the campsites were taken and our hike up the rock had a small trickle of people going up. Until several bus loads of school groups showed up and then it was masses of Bling flip flop kids.
There was no snack stand so that might have been a spring break thing.

Despite the touristy-ness, it still looks like a fun place to visit. Next time we're in that neck of the woods (we live in DFW) we'll have to check it out, in our flip flops, of course. ;o)

Your photos are beautiful. I always think sarcastic thoughts when I see people hiking in flip flops, on rocky trails. I hardly ever do that ;)

I just recently went to Enchanted Rock and felt the same way. I felt like we were traveling in an never ending single file line the entire way around the park, and up the rock. Your pictures are beautiful.

[...] Bill and I are not touristy type people. We prefer our hikes to be in secluded areas and to be more like survival marches. We have a history of pushing things to the very limits of our endurance. Like sailing in a sailboat race during a hurricane, because, God knows how fast […] – More – [...]

It all looks beautiful....except for the hotdog stand, streams of tourists, shaking chihuahuas and **Bling** flip-flop girls. Ugh!! I SOOOO hope the ranger was being honest when he said it isn't usually like that. The beauty won't last for long with all that traffic. I guess it's about time to find a new destination. 8^(
