The weather was a bit to be desired this weekend…cloudy and windy, windy, windy.

So, what do we do?

We go sailing, baby!!

Bill and Cory

Bill dragged out the Capri 13′ that we have, cleaned it up and we took it to Rockport for a day trip. The boys had a blast. He took them out one at a time, and I am not sure who had more fun, the kids or Bill. He was out for several hours, and when I told him it was time to split the beach, he pouted.

Mia and I spent our time laying out at the beach, watching the sail boats, which was fine by me after working the ER all night (Sandy, I am totally loving the ER, it is so much less stressful than L&D…I know that sounds weird, but in the ER I have a doc there at all times, in OB I am it….there is no in hospital backup for me).

After sailing and sunbathing (bye bye pasty-white Jody) we hit the Boiling Pot.

This lovely scene greeted us when we walked in the door…..a kazillion different brands of ice cold beer. Can you guess which one I chose?

The parents favorite part

The table…..before dinner was served

The table and people after

The table after

Crawfish, shrip, corn, sausage and potatoes!

Dirty, crab boil face

A great way to spend a Saturday, for sure.

Closing shot….words to live by.

I will try

  1. This is weird – I don’t even know exactly what site I am on. I was looking for pictures of Goose Island State Park and came upon your post. I live just a few blocks from the park in Lamar and guess I should probably just take my own pictures. LOL Anyway I was reading your posts and you are great writer – it was like reading a chapter in a love story.Would you mind if I copy a couple of your pictures of the hills and house.
Thank you and God bless your family.

  2. Found you at Jana’s…

May your dreams come true and may you both bask eternally in each other’s love and devotion. (you have no idea how hard it was for me to write something that sappy…) But seriously…love is meant to last a lifetime and when you find it you want that lifetime to last forever…

Aha! I was just going to ask you how you liked the ER : ) I’m glad you loved it. I’ve been so overworked lately that I have been pondering different specialties but yesterday, in the midst of an MI, I thought, no, this is what I was made to do…
Email me and tell me about your night! Were there a bunch of drunken fools who tried to kill each other? lol

Mmmmm! A low country boil! That looks so good. The sailing looks fun to, but a tad scary in that first pic with the sail boat tipped a bit lol

Oh my kids would LOVE that. I’d probably have to wait outside so as not to die from an allergic reaction… though I guess you and Bill could revive me ;-)

My girls would love all of that, the sailing, the beach, the food on the table …
