Ready for bed…or not
During the summer, I get really lax about baths etc.
When we go swimming, I count that as a bath. Hey! They get submerged. The dirt gets washed off. At our pool, because of the amount of chlorine added, my kids even come out nice and bleached. Here is evidence……
Half the time, when the kids do get a proper bath, they are right back outside in the humid summer air, getting that child sweaty smell all over again……so what is the point?
We are going natal again here. The 2 oldest boys are growing their hair long….Cory wants his to get shoulder length and is well on his way there, as he hasn’t had a hair cut since last fall I believe. He is so totally getting a micro-braid. (Bill got ahold of Quinn while I was out grocery shopping and buzzed his hair. I was livid. All of his curls…gone. Sob!)
The laundry basket is empty and lonely, due to the fact that the kids pretty much wear their bathings suits all day, every day.
I could so totally get used to this way of life.

Yea, baths are definitely overrated in the summer…lol. I wish my laundry basket would get as empty as yours though…but I have to agree the loads are much lighter. Love the pictures:-)
Hey, a dip in the pool counts for us, too. The dirt gets rinsed off and the chlorine kills the germs, right? I buzz the boy’s hair in the summertime. They hate haircuts so much, I figure it lasts longer if it’s shorter. ;o)
When we had a swimming pool not only did the kids get cleaner in the cholorine, but when the puppy smelled like a….. well, a puppy, I dipped her in there too! LOL.
PS: I would have been livid if my husband cut my sons hair when I was gone too. But then again, he would never ever ever do that. LOL. He would suggest “I” might cut it, but he would never feel comfortable wielding the clippers.
Ahhhh…the lonely laundry basket. That must be a beautiful site to see. I envy you!! 8^)
LOVE summer!! We do the white trash baths if we come inside too late. Thtas baby wipes all around, LOL!!
Totally agree on all the above. Except the hair. I can’t stand it when it’s not brushed (all the time) so I’m forever chasing them with scissors (which they evade). I currently have 8 swim suits drying on my kitchen chairs and I LOVE IT.
Oh good, I’m not the only one with low, er relaxed, summer standards. I figure the chlorine decontaminates them, right.
We’re pretty laid-back in the summer here, too. No socks…yippee!
I am also LOL here because my 2 1/2 yo daughter caught sight of the picture of Mia and is in spasms of joy over her “Meme” (mermaid) nightgown.
sounds like our house!
Swimming in a chlorinated pool toally counts as a bath at our house
