This is unreal
Here we sit…waiting. Still. For the release of lien on the boat.
The owners are leaving for Mexico on Thursday, and will do something called a dry closing. Meaning they will leave the keys and title at the funding company, sign all the paper work, and the $$ will be deposited into their account when the title is released.
He will also lash the 8 foot dinghy to the foredeck, and put the air conditioner and bimini (the sun shade over the back of the boat…sort of like an awning) on the boat.
I am not happy about that last sentence. We have signed all papers, and are more than half way through the purchase. If a storm comes, that would really suck to have the 8 foot dinghy on the deck of the boat.
Not to mention that that noone called to tell us that the wrong bank had been contacted for lien release, and that all day Friday was spent trying to find the actual bank that holds the lien…..and find it they did, only to be told that it might take awhile.
Oh, or the fact that the owner had told us we had until the end of July to move the boat, and today he asked where we planned to keep her, and informed me I better get busy finding a slip because his slip was up at the end of June….as in 2 weeks from now.
I am containing my natural instinct to scream f**k over and over again.
I am pondering what kind of tropical concoction I need to blend up tonight to take the edge off and dilute my frustrations.
What is your favorite adult, frozen beverage? Leave the recipe in the comments, if you will please. Variety is the spice of life!!

How frustrating! At least these people are trusting enough to leave you with the keys so when it is yours it will really be yours.
Bummer! I wish I could help you out with a “relaxing” recipe but the only mixed beverages I drink are mixed by someone else. Sorry. Hope they get the paperwork worked out for you soon. Very soon.
In the summer I like sangria: wine, spices and fruit over lots of ice, but I don’t have the recipe.
As always, I love, love your blog. I read it every day.
I agree with you, it is so much simpler when there is less “stuff” and the kids seem freer and even happier when there aren’t so many choices and distractions.
I have a cool new gadget (pictured and written about lovingly on my blog) and my favorite drink this week is traditional but yummy- strawberry puree, shaved ice, a half a banana and at least one and half shots of pineapple Captain Morgan’s rum. Blend it up good and smooth and relax. It is lovely!

Meredith, that sounds wonderful. Maybe some mulling spices with it?
Leeann, that sounds much like a bahama mama. Yumm!!!!! We are totally into the flavored rums, and are addicted to coconut right now. I will have to get some pineapple when this bottle runs out!
we don’t normally drink , but I do like me some orange juice and peach schnapps
Vicki – who’s in TX but no where near you
Sorry, I know I am coming in late here, but for future reference:
Lemon Drop Martini
1/2 oz. sugar syrup (see below)
1/2 oz. fresh lemon juice
2 oz. vodka
Mix in martini shaker with ice and strain – drink!
Sugar syrup:
equal parts sugar to water – heat until sugar is dissolved.
Hi, it’s Snoskred here. I’ve recently become a blogging chick and have set myself a challenge to comment on as many Blogging Chick blogs as I can. So that’s why I’m here.
First, can I say I love the colors of your blog. It’s truly beautiful.
Second, I hope it all gets sorted out easily and without too much stress.
Third, it’s called a fruit tingle. A shot of Vodka, a shot of Blue Curacao, and a couple of dashes of raspberry cordial. Mix with lemonade. It’s a gorgeous shade of purple and tastes great.

we’re pretty simple; tequila (reposado) with limon. Maybe ice.
Or, licor de maracuya. (made and bottled in Xico, Veracruz)
What a MESS with the boat! I’ll yell a big fat F*CK for you here if you’d like.
Mojito, anyone? It’s not blended, but served over ice it’s truly refreshing. 1 1/2 oz. Vodka, 12 fresh mint leaves, crushed a little, 3-4 oz. club soda, 1 T lime juice and a little sugar or 1 T. simple syrup (or use 2 T. Rose’s lime juice instead of the sugar and lime juice). It’s soooo good, doesn’t even taste alcoholic! Wish i could have one!
Gin, always gin- well unless there’s tequila. My favorite this summer is either one with Simply Limeade on the rocks! Is it 5 yet??
