Hayden did the same thing as Pastormac’s Ann’s son, but he got to keep the tooth. However, it is pushed back so far that when he smiles, you can’t really see it. We just have to cross our fingers that it won’t die or abcess before it is time for it to come out on its own!

When my son was 2 1/2 he fell and knocked one of his front teeth so askew that a pediatric dentist had to pull it. He didn’t need a spacer and I even asked. Alas he was too young to understand the tooth fairy. We’ve been looking at that toothless grin for a very long time. He’s now about to turn 8 years old and his adult tooth is finally on the verge of coming through. It’s coming in just the right place. I’m not sure I’ll recognize him with two front teeth again.

I feel your pain.

Did your dentist suggest a spacer?
I’d be a little concerned that the other teeth might migrate if she is without something in that space.

Wow! That is so early. My seven year old just this week has his first loose tooth.
