Many years ago, when I lived in a heavily wooded area dense with mosquitos, I performed a similar feat, gashing my face with the car door in my rushed attempt to get into the car quickly enough that no mosquitos got in with me.

I also once hit my baby (my first) with the car door when getting into the backseat with him to put him in the carseat. Talk about feeling bad–that was way worse then hurting myself.

Yikes! Your face doesn’t look too bad, but then, I don’t know how long ago this was either.

Today I ran my shopping cart full of groceries, off the ramp thing at Walmart and spilled them everywhere. I thought I was still on the sloped area and…apparently not. So you are not along in feeling like a clumsy idiot. )

I did that about a year ago with my van’s tailgate. We were eating at Boston Pizza and I needed to get something from the van – probably the diaper bag. I popped the back, grabbed the bag, and SLAMMED the door down on my forehead. Man, that hurt. I reeled back, cursing loudly as my head rang.

I gathered my senses and closed the door without using my head, went inside and fetched our son to change him. My family looked me kind of oddly as I did this, and when I got to the bathroom I realized why. There was a fairly significant amount of blood flowing from my forehead. It had been raining out so I assumed that was why my forehead was wet. Huh.

After some pressure the bleeding stopped, and I didn’t need any stitches, so I got off easy. But I know it can happen.

Wow! Not a fun morning! Is it sad that I actually laughed at your story? Well I did, so here’s one for you: I tend to hit my huge nose on doors and cupboards as I open them. My mom, who has the same huge nose, actually broke her nose by hitting it on a cupboard door. Hope that got you to smile.

lol..i only laugh because that’s something I totally would have done…in fact I hit the back of my head on my hatchback the day before yesterday…although that’s a little more explainable! i blamed it on the car.

You forgot to mention the incident with the icy/snowy driveway, the sled, the lamppost and the broken wrist.:)
