My son took this photo of me. It is a rare instance when I am in a picture, as I am always the one behind the lens. Bill doesn’t like to take photos.
He lives in the moment, as it should be.
Me? I like to document things. I want my kids to pour over the photos one day when Bill and I are long gone and remember the good times. I want them to laugh out loud as they shuffle through them, and say things like “I am so glad mom took these pictures of us all”, and “Oh, look. Here’s Dad at the helm”.
Someone needs to be behind the lens. Now there are 2 of us.

you have no idea how envious i am of these boat pictures… i can’t wait for summer – and it’s still 5 months away here.
i’m not in many pictures either because i’m always taking them. and then i hate asking someone to take my picture because it seems so conceited…

And you know what?(besides you shouldn’t start a sentence with and…) That is a great photo that he took! Not just the quality of the picture but the feeling it evokes. That calm out there on the boat encapsulates the choices you have made over the last year. I love it!
